Meet Riehanna Quinn, Director of Sales, Venues & Seasonal Sites

Riehanna, our Director of Sales for Venues and Seasonal Sites is our bubbly Aussie with a passion for selling! We had a chat with Riehanna to find out more about her time in the industry and with Smart Group.

HOW DID YOU START OUT IN THE INDUSTRY?

So when I was 18 I worked at a hotel in Brisbane as a waitress which made me fall in love with hospitality, after I finished studying an event planner role opened up and I jumped at the chance! 3 years later and with some experience under my belt, I hopped like a little kangaroo on a plane to the other side of the world to explore what London has to offer. 11 years later I’m still here, loving my life at Smart Group.

WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO SMART GROUP?

When I arrived in London I worked at the Tower Hotel for three years selling shared Christmas parties, what a time to be alive! I was approached by Smart Group to work in the sales team for Evolution London and I couldn’t say no to the amazing opportunity.

WHAT IS YOUR IDEAL WAY TO SPEND A SUNDAY?

We’ve got a little pub by our flat on the canal, there is nothing better then sitting by the water having a delicious roast dinner and watching the boats sail past.

DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE LONDON VENUE?

Of course, it’s got to be Evolution London. I have been championing this venue for the past 9 years and I will never stop. It’s the most versatile venue in our city and we have hosted some spectacular events over the years, many of which I have been privileged enough to attend.

YOU’VE BEEN INVOLVED WITH MANY EVENTS AT SMART, BUT WHICH ONE WAS YOUR FAVOURITE?

When Kylie Minogue (my Aussie twin) was at the Waitrose Supplier Ball back in 2018 – what a night to remember! I just can’t get her out of my head.

WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE FOR PEOPLE STARTING IN THE INDUSTRY?

Definitely start out by working on the floor, become a waitress, work back of house, learn HOW an event operates from the inside out. So many opportunities will grow from there.
